| Old Glory IPA |
Aroma: Powerful pine trees, citrus and pineapple dominate the nose. A slight hint of oak.
Appearance: Golden yellow with a nice dominate head. I little cloudy. (I had some clogging issues with the keg/tap)
Flavor: Big maltyness with a low bitterness. The whirlpool hops are clearly present. (Also used a hoprocket) No oak flavors detected. The Amarillo/citra hop combination is quickly becoming a personal favorite.
Mouthfeel: A little on the heavy side. Almost in the east coast IPA range. Feels a little like a Double IPA in the viscosity. Perfect blend of carbonation for style.
Overall Impression: This is a great beer. I lost about a gallon during the hoprocketing process after the boil. I really need to brew this again. It reminds me that I need a good staple IPA on draft all the time at home.
Brewing Timeline/Notes:
Brewed on March 5th. I used my HopRocket on this beer. This also had a Red Oak Honeycomb in the fermenter for 24 hours, right after noticeable yeast activity. Here is the recipe for Old Glory IPA
