Hop Savant, Tasting Session

Shitty picture, I was drunk at the time BTW

Aroma: Malt sweetness, heavy simcoe (not catty) flavors, very aromatic.

Appearance:  Burnt amber, cloudy (more than normal)  tan colored head, well balanced long lasting head retention

Flavor: Reminiscent of a malt forward IPA. Very clean fermentation profile.  The Simcoe ripe grapefruit flavors are very prevalent.  Leaves only a dry fresh hop aroma in your mouth.

Mouthfeel: Crisp carbonation, feels heavier than expected.  Yet easily drinkable.

Overall Impression: This is a great beer, with a little tweaks this will be my #NHC entry for American IPA this year.

Brewing Timeline/Notes: This beer was rushed due to the disappointing results of my Mustache Rye'd Pale Ale.  Personally, between you and me I should of Gelatin'd this beer.  I think I was getting cocky about the great clarity the last couple beers enjoyed and took that step for granted.  On the next batch I might raise the 30 min addition a couple IBU's but that's it.
